Oh my goodness I received so many goodies for my birthday, I can't get them all in here today! So I will start by showing what I have played with so far. (Smiling) I received the beautiful 'Forgotten Not' kit plus the 'Forgotten Not Word Art' pack by Kim Broedelet This kit is so beautiful and can be used in so many types of LO's, as you can see from the three that I have already made from it. Thank you so much Kim!!

Created for the Monday challenge at Cen's Loft This LO is in remembrance of my Daddy, you will be able to download the Circle Word Art below.

This third LO from the same kit, I used an older photo of me, when I was a lot younger and in a lot better shape. LOL And was created for the font challenge over at DSO. After looking back, I needed to that one in order to get the MEGA kit, as I had previously combined it with the lyric challenge. Now I have them all finished. With this LO I used a different size template, 6x 12 inches by Mish Gasser. They are neat and fun to work with!

Charmed Alpha

Todays post won't be very long as my back is acting up very bad today. For those that don't know I have severe degenerative disc disease with 2 disc that are completely gone in my lower back, and others that are going. I always have the pain, but at times it is a lot worse than others and this is one of those days. I don't like to complain so enough of that, let me get on with showing you a few LO's that I've done since I posted last.

This is not actually smoke but fog rising from the river that you see. These photos were taken of me by my Hubby on one of our camping trips. I liked the way they ended up looking like shadows. I used June's new kit 'Little Blossoms' in this LO, I just love this kit, such bright & beautiful colors.

Since Wednesday the 27th is my birthday, I thought I would use these quotes on aging today. I couldn't decide on just one so here you go for today there are three quotes.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

They say that age is all in your mind. The trick is keeping it from creeping down into your body.

My granddaughter calls the river a riber, that is why this one is titled this way. LOL I used pieces from different kits that were created for the color challenge at DSO for this. You can end up with a Mega kit here from all the great kits that have been entered in this challenge.

Challenges & Freebies

I want to share a few LO's that I've done in the last few days.
The first one I did for the ad challenge over at DSO. The warm colors from this ad, had me thinking of spring. And with the coming of spring come our Camping trips. Here is my take of this AD

This LO I did for the It's In The Numbers Challenge at DSO.
We were to use 2 papers, 2 elements, & 2 photos.

When I saw this kit of June's I just had to do this LO.
In the 90's when one of my sons was 6, he asked for twister for Christmas.
He argued with me that it was a new game that just came out. LOL
I told him "no, it is an old game, that you have just heard about".
I also had asked for and received the game when I was 6, and the game was first released.
Now I have grandchildren that are playing it!! Talk about a classic!

Fun In The 60's...

This next LO I did for the recipe challenge at DSO. We were to scrap our favorite recipe. How easy was that?
This is a favorite because it is sooo Yummy and Easy!
No Cooking or baking involved.
If you would like the 12x12 inch version of this for your recipe book, just drop me a note, here or by email. It's yours for the asking!

And if you would like another template, June over at Cen's Loft has a nice one. You can take just the template, or take her up on her challenge and you will get the template plus her newest kit in the store called 'Little Blossoms'. As for me I'm on my way to start the challenge.
I love a challenge, and I love getting free stuff!

A Restless Night of Storms

Just stopped in to let everyone know that we are ok. Our families are all safe after these terrible storms last night. It was a very scary night, to say the least. And with our children all grown and being scattered across different areas, along with other family members, we spent a very restless night.
I have several family members in Lafayette, TN, which was hit very hard, but they are all safe, for which I thank God. My heart goes out to all who were affected in any way by these killer tornados. There are at least 54 confirmed deaths as a result of these tornados, and several people missing. With 13 of the deaths in Macon County, TN.
I will be back when I'm able to post more.

Hug your family members tight, and let them know that you love them!
For no-one knows what tomorrow holds in store.

First I want to say thank you for all the 'Get Well' wishes that I've received here, at 4shared, and in my email box. Ya'll are the greatest! I have got my voice back but still have a nasty cough. Because of all this I haven't been on the computer near as much as usual. Maybe I will get back to normal before long.

WOW! You aren't gonna believe what has happened to me. I went back over to MGL Scraps to see who the winners were,in the 'Color My World' contest. Imagine my surprise when the 10th and last name was - Kim's Scrappin' ! I got to choose which of the 'Dreams In Color' packs that I wanted for my prize. Of course I chose the purple without even thinking about it! LOL This is such a beautiful kit, so full of rich purples. Plus I got a bonus gift of a neat
purple alpha, along with another alpha in the kit. Watch out I'll be scrapping some purple layouts now! Thank you so much for drawing my name out of the hat! She has loads of different kits in this series, you will have to go check them out.

I want to share a layout with you. I did this LO for the BOM challenge over at DSO. We were supposed to tell what Love is to us. There were so many different directions that I could have went with this, and started to do the whole family, but there are soooo many, it would be hard to get them all in one layout! So I just did Hubby and I.

Kit used is the DSO mega kit 'Brand New Day' by the DSO Design Team
Template used is the 'Love Is' by Kim Broedelet
Fonts used are ChopinScript, AndrewScript, & NewUnicodeFont
Photos are of my husband and I years ago, separately
And one of us together, now

If you like challenges, don't forget to stop by Cen's Loft where June has a color challenge running this week. She has a beautiful posting gift for you if you are up to the challenge! June is also hosting a 'Take Your Pick Challenge' over at SDK through this month. I'm headed in that direction when I finish here this morning.

Now for the freebie today, I completed another challenge over at DSO, the color challenge. Where we either have to do a layout using at least three of the colors, or create a mini kit. I never know where to stop when I start a kit, so I don't think that they could ever be called mini..... LOL After you grab my freebie, head on over to DSO and if you post a layout to this challenge, Kim Broedelet has a beautiful posting gift for you. Plus you could end up with a very huge kit with these colors, as there are others that have also created kits for this challenge.

Download this kit here

Laryngitis Again!!!

What a day this has started out to be, I got up this morning with laryngitis again! I take this more than anyone that I know, several times a year. Everything I try to say is coming out in a whisper. Maybe that's why I'm so talkative here today. LOL
I have a lot to share with you today. So lets get started.

Have you seen the HUGE Mega kit at DSO, that you can get for completing all of the challenges for the month of February? It is fan-tas-tic!!
There are a total of 17 challenges, for which you can get a posting gift for each challenge too. The first challenge I decided to do is the scrap lift challenge. I've never done one of those, so I tried this challenge first .We were to choose one of Angel's LO's to scrap lift. I chose this one It is a great LO Angel! I hope that you like my scrap lift of it. Angel gray scaled her photo, so I decided to do the same. The photo I used was of my husband and me and made New Year's Eve 2005, as we were getting ready to go to my youngest son's wedding. Doesn't he look nice all dressed up?

Kit used is 'Spice Of Life' by June Schutrups - Cen's Stuff

Carolyn sent me this LO she made using my Pretty In Pink QP and Pretty In Pink Paper Pack. It is of her daughter,Cori Ann, who will be celebrating her 13th birthday this month. She is such a beauty, I told Carolyn to get the club ready to beat the boys away from the door! said with a smile Thank you for sharing this layout with me and allowing me to share it with everyone here Carolyn.
Keep smilin' Cori Ann!
I hope that you have a Very Happy Birthday and get all that you wish for!
