Today is Memorial Day here in the US. In honor of everyone past and present that has served in any branch of the service to keep the US free, I have created this kit to share with everyone. You can download the whole kit together, or for those on dial-up, I have separated the papers and elements into two downloads. This kit has 7 papers & 24 elements, I couldn't get them all in the preview.

News, A Recipe, & A Freebie

Nikki of NikkiFabulous Designs has asked me to join her CT team and I accepted. I'd like to share my first LO that I did as a member of her CT. I did this LO for the recipe challenge over at DSO. This is fun for the kids to make, they can roll the can back and forth between themselves and end up with a yummy treat - homemade ice cream! My kids loved making this when they were all young and at home. One of my sons asked about this the other day, he wanted the recipe for it. Gave me the idea of scrapping it.

I absolutely love this kit of Nikki's , it makes me want to go out and get some ice cream, or make some! LOL It looks good enough to eat. Great work Nikki!
If you would like to have this kit you can find it here and the word art here

Coffee Can Ice Cream

Grab the kids, two coffee cans,
ingredients for the ice cream and roll away!

What you'll need:
2 clean metal cans, both with lids
(make one can larger than the second)
1 cup of very cold milk
1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla
1 tbs chocolate or strawberry syrup
Ice Salt

How to make it:
Place the ice cream mixture in the smaller
coffee can and seal with the lid on tightly.
Place the smaller can in the larger can.
Pour the ice and salt around the smaller
can making sure it is more or less in the center.
Seal the larger can with its lid tightly
and roll it around for about a half hour.

I also have a freebie for you today as well. I created this kit for Kim's color challenge over at DSO.
I used some of the overlays by June Schutrups of Cen's Stuff to create this kit. They are great, if you'd like to try your hand at creating some yourself, you can find her store here

I'm Back & CT Collab

Wow, I didn't realize it has been so long since I've posted. With everything else that has been going on, I've had the flu and bronchitis. Feeling a bit better now though.

I'd like to share a LO I made using June's new kit 'Bella'. This is a beautiful kit, it has shades of pinks and blues, lots of white too, it's ideal for your summer layouts. See below my LO for where to get this kit.
I created this for the All The Two's challenge over at Cen's Loft. And for the font challenge over at DSO.

I've been tagged by Tracy @ Scrappin A Latte'
Here is what I'm supposed to do...
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

7 Facts about Me...
1. I'm happily married to my best friend, Tony. We have no children together, but have both been married previously, and have 7 adult children between us, and a whole passel of grandchildren! Family & friends are an important part of my life.
2. I love to read, and will read just about anything I can get my hands on. I enjoy non-fiction as well as fiction.
3. I have severe Degenerative Disc Disease, which prevents me from doing a lot of things.
4. I am hooked on Diet Mountain Dew, my drink of choice :)
5. I love genealogy, and researching my family tree. I recently had the pleasure of meeting some cousins that I never knew about, and look forward to meeting more in the future.
6. We spend a lot of the summer camping, not at campgrounds, but in a tent in the wilderness. Really roughing it, so to speak! But I refuse to go without the ever faithful 'air mattress' ! LOL
7. I try and treat other's as I want them to treat me, but I have been known to have a really bad temper, such as when someone mistreats any of my family or friends.

That is 7 things about me, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Here are the 7 people I am tagging...
1. June @ Cen's Loft
2. Kat @ Tragedy Scrapin Anne
3. Chris @ Crafts By Chrissy
4. Melanie @ Sweet As Mel
5. Linda @ Linda's Lot
6. Gabrielle @ Take My Breath Away
7. Heather @ HS Designs

If you have a little free time, visit their blogs as well, you never know what you might find. Don't forget to say thank you if you find something that you like and download it. It only takes a minute and shows that you appreciate the time that they have taken in making and sharing their things with you. I know that some will still grab and run, but for all those that remember their manners, I personally want to say a BIG Thank You, I appreciate the time that you take out to leave a little note, you are the reason I keep sharing! I guess I've rambled on enough for today. I'll be back soon with another freebie for you!
